Meet Connor Garnett

The World No. 3 singles pickleball athlete, is a multifaceted talent who has made his mark in both the sports and financial worlds. Originally hailing from the picturesque town of Bellevue, Washington, Connor now calls Southern California home. Here, he masterfully balances his burgeoning pickleball career with a captivating array of other hobbies, having recently made the bold decision to leave his job as an investment banker and commit to training for pickleball full-time.

Connor’s journey in the world of sports began at a young age when he fell in love with tennis. This passion blossomed into an undefeated high school career at Interlake High School, showcasing his natural talent and unwavering dedication. His pursuit of excellence led him to play Division I tennis at Santa Clara University, further honing his skills and fostering his competitive spirit.

His signature "Twoey", the infamous two-handed backhand, has become a popular shot pickleball. Again, this shot stems from his extensive background in sports. As a child Connor's dad taught him to bat left-handed, which has led to him having the most lethal backhand in pickleball. Twoey Nation is now the community that supports Connor as he battles on both the PPA tour and in Major League Pickleball. 

Not one to be confined by borders, Connor embarked on an international odyssey. While pursuing a finance degree at the University of Nottingham in England, he continued to follow his love for tennis, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. His sophomore year in college saw him clinch the prestigious Sportsmanship Award for all athletes across the 12 West Coast Conference schools, a testament to his unwavering character and integrity.

Connor’s tennis prowess also extends to his remarkable victory at the Washington State Open, an achievement that firmly established his place in the annals of the sport. His connection to the world of professional tennis is further highlighted by the unique opportunity to hit with legendary pro players such as Novak Djokovic, Gael Monfils, and Simona Halep at the illustrious U.S. Open. These experiences not only enriched his tennis career but also provided a window into the dedication and commitment required to excel at the highest level of the sport.
